10,000 trucks less on Brenner route

Demand for intermodal services on the Domegliara-Neuss line continues to grow. Operator Ambrogio Intermodal is therefore now increasing the train frequency on this route to three departures per week.

The connection via the Brenner line was inaugurated during the summer of 2020 with two weekly departures in each direction. This enabled the company to expand its regional coverage and its transport capacity to and from North-East Italy to the Ruhr area and to eastern Netherlands and Belgium, Ambrogio said.

With this connection, the intermodal operator can help protect the environment by removing 10,000 trucks a year from the Brenner Pass. (ben)
