100% zero-emissions refrigerated delivery

Albertsons, a US chain of grocery stores, recently took delivery of two e-trucks at its distribution centre in Irvine CA. The ‘VNR Electric’ models from Volvo Trucks North America are the first zero-tailpipe emission, battery-electric class 8 trucks to be deployed in Albertsons fleet, and will serve shops in Southern California.

Albertsons has also procured electric-powered transport refrigeration units from Advanced Energy Machines (AEM), which will be paired with its Volvo ‘VNR Electrics’, enabling Albertsons to make the first 100% zero-emissions commercial grocery deliveries with a class 8 truck in the USA. Albertsons operates 1,400 class 8 trucks nationwide. (ben)
