100% renewable energy
Geodis recently switched its operations in Denmark to 100% renewable energy supplies. The shift is expected to cut Geodis Denmark’s annual CO2 footprint by almost 40 t. Its EWII certificate is valid until the end of 2025 and ensures that the company’s electricity consumption comes exclusively from sources like wind, solar, hydroelectric and biomass energy.
“This underlines our efforts to focus on developing low-carbon solutions, reducing the impact of our activities on the environment,” says Thomas Kraus, regional president & CEO of Geodis Europe.
After committing to the science-based targets initiative, the logistics provider has been working to cut scope 1 & 2 emissions by 42% in comparison to 2022, while also reducing the carbon intensity of subcontracted transport. These goals are set to be reached by 2030. (mk)
