100 new wagons to support DCRail's growth in UK
Rail wagon hire company VTG Rail UK has agreed to supply DCRail with 100 new box wagons for transporting construction materials. The rail freight operator is already using the first batch of wagons to convey recycled aggregates.
The wagons allow more material to be carried by each train and with a high impact floor they will reduce the risk of unloading damage. This new rolling stock is crucial to providing efficient rail services of DCRail including the use of a new freight hub being developed near Wembley in North London.
With the capacity to handle trains conveying over 2,200 t of material, the new hub is set to become one of the most efficient rail terminals in the capital, VTG said. (ben)
