100 million vaccine doses shipped free of charge
Only two months after the distribution of 50 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines, Latam Group exceeded 100 million doses transported free of charge within Brazil, Chile, Ecuador and Peru. The initiative is part of Latam's "solidarity plane", a programme that makes the group's connectivity available for the benefit of South America at zero cost. It includes both passenger and cargo capacity.
With over ten years of history, the programme is part of the shared value pillar of the group's sustainability strategy. To date, it has moved over 2,400 health professionals and patients with urgent medical needs, and over 770 t cargo.
Latam Airlines Group CEO Roberto Alvo: "We will remain committed to making our connectivity available for the benefit of the lives and health of the people of South America." (ah)
