Avec la mise en service de quatre nouvelles grues \u00e0 conteneurs enti\u00e8rement \u00e9lectriques de classe Suez au Norfolk International Terminals (NIT), le port est d\u00e9sormais en mesure, selon ses propres d\u00e9clarations, de traiter simultan\u00e9ment des ULCV.<\/p>\n<p>Les nouvelles grues \u00e0 conteneurs viennent compl\u00e9ter la flotte existante de 29 installations de grue dans la zone en eau profonde, qui, selon le port, sont con\u00e7ues pour le traitement des plus grands navires porte-conteneurs dans le trafic atlantique. Sarah J. McCoy, PDG par int\u00e9rim et directrice g\u00e9n\u00e9rale de la Virginia Port Authority, souligne que cet investissement dans l&#8217;infrastructure envoie un signal aux compagnies maritimes pour augmenter leur volume de manutention au port de Virginie. \u00ab Notre capacit\u00e9 d&#8217;accostage augmente.
