WSC expands
The World Shipping Council (WSC) board of directors has elected two co-chairs of the board and welcomed two new members to WSC.
Rolf Habben, CEO of Hapag-Lloyd, and Jeremy Nixon, CEO of Ocean Network Express, are going to co-chair the WSC Board, effective immediately. They succeed outgoing board chair Ron Widdows (photo), who served since 2008 and who had previously announced his wish to step down.
USA-based Matson Navigation and the X-Press Feeders, based in Singapore, have joined the Council as new members. Matt Cox, Matson’s chairman & CEO, and Tim Hatnoll, executive chairman of X-Press Feeders, will represent them on the WSC board, also with immediate effect. (amh)
