Wijgula's fresh face
The inland shipping company Königliche Wijnhoff & Van Gulpen & Larsen (Wijgula) has appointed Simon Lucas as its third managing director alongside Norbert Meixner and Egbert Schelhaas, effective 1 September 2023.
With a background in the chemical industry, Lucas will oversee the strategic and operational direction of the HGK Shipping subsidiary, focusing on meeting the future needs of the chemical industry. His extensive experience includes leadership roles in various chemical and logistics companies, including the Tessenderlo Group.
Lucas is a longstanding member of industry platforms like the European Chemical Industry Council (Cefic) and Vlaamse Waterwegen. His appointment aims to navigate the evolving landscape of chemical industry supply chains and contribute to the company's vision for traffic shift to inland waterways. (pb)
