When fashion goes for automation
French clothing manufacturer and retailer Kiabi has commissioned Dematic to improve the order & picking processes in its e-commerce business.
The contract includes the delivery of a fully automated system. The solution will initially involve twelve multi-shuttle lanes equipped with ergonomic goods-to-person (GTP) stations and a state-of-the-art conveyor system.
The project will be implemented on a 66,000 sqm site located in the French town of Lauwin-Planque, about 200 km north of Paris. Work will start with immediate effect and is expected to be completed by 2024. Kiabi operates an e-shop in addition to 553 retail outlets in 25 countries. (sh)
