Volatus wins first delivery slot for Natilus
Canadian Volatus Aerospace has secured the first production delivery slot for the Natilus N3.8T large autonomous drone. By adding Natilus aircraft to its repertoire, the company establishes the long-term direction for its aviation division.
The freighters under development by Natilus of San Diego, CA are designed to reduce both the cost and environmental impact of air cargo.
The N3.8T is the first in a family of next-generation aircraft with a maximum takeoff weight of 8,6 t and a range of 1,667 km, expected to carry a load of LD3 (3,8 t maximum) - 60% more cargo than traditional aircraft of the same weight.
Volatus plans to leverage its current business jet charter operation into drone air cargo, beginning with small package delivery and growing into regional airfreight with the addition of the N3.8T in 2025. (ah)
