Up to 30,000 t of fruit by train to China
China-Laos Railway transported a total of 23,000 t of imported fruit, worth about CNY 560 million (USD 800,000) from December 2022 until June 2023.
On the morning of 1 June 2023, a special train for cold-chain fruit loaded with 740 t of Thai durian and mangosteen arrived at Wangjiayingxi Container Center Station in Kunming (China).
With a total of 36 cold-chain fruit containers on this special train, the entire journey on the China-Laos railway took only 26 hours.
The fruit that arrived in Kunming was transferred to major fruit markets nationwide. By the end of June 2023, the total fruit volume shipped by China-Laos Railway is expected to exceed 30,000 t. (ben)
