Unifying rail carriage between Europe and Asia

With the adoption of new United Nations Convention unifying applicable legal rules, cargo carriage by rail between Europe and Asia will be made easier, quicker, and cheaper. This new convention will entail a number of advantages for the parties to the contract.

For example, signatories will be able to apply a single, simple, and clear legal regime that focuses only on the main aspects of railfreight transport.

It will avoid multiple freight transport regulations and allow the use of a single consignment note. The opening for signature of the new Convention on the Contract for International Carriage of Goods by Rail is planned for February 2024. (ben)
