Ukrainian stakeholder comes on board
The Ukrainian financial and industrial company TAS Group, headquartered in Kiev, has acquired a 40.03% stake in Transant, based in Linz (Austria). The TAS Group has extensive experience in the construction of wagons and components through its own manufacturing plant in Dniprovagonmash (Ukraine).
The production of Transant’s main components will also start there with immediate effect. The other shares in Transant are held by previous owners, namely Voestalpine Stahl (48.1%) and the ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (11.87%).
The new ownership structure and thus pooled knowledge is beneficial for the further development of innovative, lightweight, modular freight wagons. (ben)
