UK freight companies launch rail service
Maritime Transport and DB Cargo UK has introduced a new railfreight service between UK’s Port of Felixstowe and the East Midlands Gateway (EMG). It is Maritime's fifth connection with the Port of Felixstowe and the second new rail service in seven days to be launched in Felixtowe. It will run Tuesday to Saturday.
With this addition, Maritime increases its capacity and logistics efficiency whilst reducing travel distances for HGVs.
The company’s 70,000 sqm EMG intermodal rail freight terminal provides access to the UK's major ports, operates 24/7 and can accommodate up to sixteen 775 m freight trains per day. (ben)
