Uinta Basin Railway project progresses
US regional freight railway operator Rio Grande Pacific Corporation (RGPC) has selected the companies to complete the final engineering and construction of the Uinta Basin Railway.
The 137 km long common-carrier railway will provide the first-ever common-carrier railway service to Northeast Utah’s Uinta Basin region and to serve mineral, energy, agricultural, construction and manufacturing companies in the area.
Construction and operation of the Uinta Basin Railway was authorised by the US surface transportation board in December 2021. The engineering and construction firms contracted for the project are Aecom, Skanska-WW Clyde JV and Obayashi. (ben)
