Two logistics groups join forces in East Africa

MOL Group and GCS Velogic have formed a strategic alliance and signed a MOU to extend their logistics services in East Africa. MOL has already been providing inland transport services in cooperation with GCS Velogic, but with the conclusion of the MOU, it aims to contribute to solving logistics issues, the partners said.

Specifically, the two companies will jointly offer the full range of logistics services including forwarding, customs clearance, warehouse management, and land transport in Kenya and neighbouring countries, and jointly promote the development of cold chains, logistics digital transformation, and new businesses related to logistics.

GCS Velogic owns about 170 trucks, offices, and warehouses in Kenya’s business centres Nairobi, Mombasa, and Nakuru and employs a staff of about 490 people. MOL Group currently has a local subsidiary in Kenya, MOL Shipping (Kenya) and MLG’s Nairobi branch, which engages in inland transport, as well as ocean and air freight forwarding to/from Africa.
