Transport order for sodium hydroxide
The Russian railway operator Unicon 1520, part of UWC, has landed a contract from the major polyvinyl chloride producer RusVinyl, a joint enterprise between Russia's Sibur Holding and the Belgian company Solvay.
The agreement covers the transport of sodium hydroxide over a two year period. Under the contract, Unicon 1520 will provide RusVinyl with a fleet of tank containers on flat cars to facilitate the haulage of sodium hydroxide for use in paper, metal and food production, as well as for other sectors.
The services will provided across Russian territory, port access will be via Finland and the Baltic states. (ben)
