Transpacific service of APL wins award
Laurels for APL, part of the CMA CGM Group, which has been named the ‘Best Shipping Line in the Trans-Pacific’ at the 2019 Asian freight, logistics and supply chain awards in Hong Kong. APL has been experiencing volume growth in the Asia-North America network.
In 2018, its year-on-year volume in the Trans-Pacific grew by 6%. Last August, APL introduced the Eagle Express X (EXX) service. The offering, with its fast 11-day ocean transit from Shanghai (China) to Los Angeles (USA), proposes amongst others the promise of guaranteed equipment and space and same-day cargo availability at the Los Angeles (LA) terminal.
APL also introduced the EXX RailFlash to expedite cargoes on rail to Chicago, Memphis, Dallas and Kansas City from the port of LA. The carrier operates a Trans-Pacific portfolio of 24 services that connect Asia with the east and west coast of North America as well as the islands of Guam and Saipan. (kd)
