Transfer of Vopak agencies imminent
It is a huge deal in port services. Norway-based Wilhelmsen Port Services is acquiring 100% of Vopak Agencies and 50% of Diize. Vopak Agencies is part of the Vopak Europe & Africa division. Port agency and hub agency are complementary services, operated from Vopak’s network of offices in Europe and the Far East, providing market coverage in all European ports.
Together with Diize, a Vopak developed digital software company, both units will complement Wilhelmsen Port Services’ maritime network of 2,200 ports. The completion of the transaction is subject to predetermined conditions and works council advice and is expected to close later in Q4/2022.
Vopak Agencies will transfer to Wilhelmsen Port Services once the deal is completed, while Diize continues as a joint venture between Wilhelmsen and Vopak Ventures. The price of the transaction was not disclosed. (sh)
