Tracking & tracing cardboard consignments in real time
In future, the medium-sized, owner-managed WEIG group will use a platform developed by software specialist Transporeon to track and trace deliveries in Germany in real time. WEIG is an important manufacturer of cardboard packaging, folding boxes and plasterboards and a provider of recycling services.
Since 2002, it has been relying on Transporeon’s cloud-based services for transport logistics, which help the company save time and costs when placing transport orders and organising transport processes.
By adding automated tracking & tracing in real time to this portfolio, the group can now calculate the expected arrival times of the delivery trucks and transmit the data to its customers. (ben)
