Toyo Tires renews contract with Fiege
The Japanese tyre maker, Toyo Tires, is extending its logistics contract with Fiege for several years. Fiege has already overseen the supply chain for Toyo Tires Europe in Germany and Austria since 2006. From 2011, Fiege began to supply the Benelux countries with Toyo tyres.
Fiege’s Dortmund facility, which stocks the full range of Toyo products, is primarily used to supply the replacement market. Wholesalers and specialised retailers receive their orders within 24 hours. Tyres are even delivered at night in the Netherlands.
Thomas Teritte, operations manager at Fiege in Dortmund, explained: “We collaborate with overnight delivery specialists when sending tyres to the Netherlands."
In addition to supplying certain original equipment suppliers in Dortmund (Germany), Fiege also oversees the processing of tyres ordered from Toyo’s online shop. (mw)
