Touchless appointments bring benefits
The US haulier C.H. Robinson has developed new technology which removes the work of scheduling an appointment at the place a load needs to be picked up and fixing another meeting at the site where the load needs to be delivered. The technology is available 24/7 without any manual intervention.
The system for touchless appointments is currently being used by 2,545 customers at more than 25,000 facilities. The USA’s trucking industry makes 1 billion of these appointments per year, mainly by telephone or e-mail.
Initial experience shows that shippers can largely profit from this automated technology that enables them to save time and money and get freight faster on the road, C.H. Robinson said. (ben)
