Tool for smoother traffic flows in port of Hamburg
Eurogate Intermodal is further optimising traffic logistics within the port of Hamburg. The Hamburg-based international service provider for intermodal container transport via road and rail launched an updated version of its Troad application in May 2019.
The app, which was first rolled out in March 2015, simplifies route planning for local transport in and around the port of Hamburg, taking into account current market requirements, especially with regard to the slot booking system.
The app communicates directly with a driver's smartphone via push messages and assigns trips to them. The updated version of Troad, which EGIM developed with HITeC at the University of Hamburg, considerably simplifies the scheduling and control of truck transport. (kd)
