To Russia with love
It is Maersk's first time in Russia. The Danish carrier's logistics arm has opened an inland container depot in Southern Russia. It is located 10 km from the port Novorossiysk, the largest port on the Black Sea.
The site is connected by rail and highways to major industrial and population centres in Russia, Transcaucasia and Central Asia.
Novorossiysk is one of the biggest export hubs and gateways in Russia. In detail, Maersk's inland container depot (ICD) operates two rail services covering a total length of 570 m, and has facilities for handling fertilisers, liquid cargoes as well as general and palletised cargo. (sh)
