TIR corridor between Iran and Azerbaijan launched
The first eTIR transport between Iran and Azerbaijan conducted by Zarin Borna International Transport has successfully taken place this week, travelling from Tabriz, Iran to Ipek Yolu, Azerbaijan.
It marks a new era of transport operations between the two countries, according to the International Road Union (IRU). The new paperless digital TIR works efficiently in a real transit environment and the new digital TIR corridor between Iran and Azerbaijan opens up the region to even greater trade flows.
The introduction of eTIR is supported by the Iranian chamber of commerce, industries, mines and agriculture (Iccima) and the Azerbaijan international road carriers association (Abada) as well as the local customs administrations. (ben)
