Three new locos for freight and building sites
The rail transport company Hamburger Rail Service (HRS) is leasing three new Siemens locomotives from Northrail. Two of the traction units are Smartron electric locomotives and one is Vectron Dual Mode locomotive.
The first of the two Smartron locomotives has already been delivered. The second Smartron and the Vectron Dual Mode locomotive with combined electric and diesel drive are expected to arrive in Q2/2023.
HRS will use the two Smartron locomotives for freight transport, while the Vectron Dual Mode locomotive will be deployed mainly for construction site transport. The lease includes a 24/7 full service provided by the manufacturer. (ben)
