Terminal expansion in Singapore
PSA Singapore is expanding its Jurong Island Terminal (JIT) to meet the growing demand for sustainable, efficient, and resilient supply chain solutions from industries based on the island. Located on the northwestern seafront of Jurong Island, JIT offers twice-daily barge sailings connecting beneficial cargo owners (BCOs) with PSA's main hubs at Tuas, Pasir Panjang, and Brani.
The extension will increase JIT's annual handling capacity to 300,000 teu and develop new dangerous goods (DG) handling and cargo transloading facilities. It will also support Jurong Island's transformation into a sustainable energy and chemicals park, in line with the Singapore green plan 2030. The collaboration between PSA and JTC will ensure that companies in Singapore's energy and chemicals sector continue to reap benefits in more sustainable ways, the partners said. (pb)
