Take-over enhances product portfolio
Greenbrier (GBX), which is based in the USA, has completed its acquisition of the manufacturing business of American Railcar Industries, which will be fully incorporated into Greenbrier's North American business model.
GBX's U.S. workforce totals 4,000 people, including nearly 1,600 U.S. workers joining from ARI, and adds two railcar manufacturing facilities in Paragould and Marmaduke (AR), as well as manufacturing and administrative employees in St. Charles (MO).
It also adds other operations in different parts of the USA, which produce a range of railcar components and parts. With the take-over of ARI, GBX can offer a more complete product range in tank cars and covered hoppers. (ben)
