Swiss Post: an acquisition in Alsace
A large medium-sized company in Alsace is to change hands. Swiss Post intends to buy the logistics company Portmann Gestion from Sausheim near Mulhouse, France. The transaction price has not been named, but the letter of intent has been signed.
Founded in 1946, the family-owned Portmann company now employs around 790 people working at 17 sites in France, three sites in Luxembourg and one site in Poland. The company has a fleet of over 400 trucks. The takeover is scheduled for autumn 2023.
Portmann, which is already a logistics partner of Swiss Post, is to retain its current name and brand in the event of a takeover. It is to remain independent in the market as a wholly owned subsidiary and all employees are to be taken over. (cd)
