Swiss opens Edelweiss bellies for Mexican exporters

ITJ was the first to announce it: Swiss World Cargo has now opened its Cancun station for exports, which means that all flights between Zurich and Cancun can now carry freight on both their inbound and outbound journeys. Swiss World Cargo connects both airports with a thrice-weekly A340-300 service, operated by Edelweiss (pictured the carrier's first landing at Colombo airport one year ago), sister company of Swiss International Air Lines, which has a payload in excess of 15 t on each leg.

In Cancun, Skylog, a member of the ECS Group, will manage all commercial activities for this new service, while Swissport will oversee ground operations. Customers in Mexico benefit from late delivery times in Cancun and ideal arrival times in Zurich for many same-day connections to Swiss World Cargo’s destinations in Europe, Africa and Asia. (ah)
