Swiss locomotives to be delivered to Polish carrier
The Polish railway company PKP Intercity has awarded Switzerland-based Stadler the contract for the delivery of twelve electric multiple unit Flirt trains including the maintenance for 15 years. The value of the contract, which includes the delivery of the vehicles and the 15-year maintenance, amounts to CHF 270 million.
The contract covers twelve eight-car electric multiple unit Flirt trains in the long-distance version. The new fleet will complement the series of 20 vehicles, which have been operated on the Polish railway network since December 2015, having covered more than 23 million km since then. (ben)
