Swiss government confirms ICS2 participation
It remains so. Switzerland has been participating in the Import Control System 2 (ICS2) of the European Union (EU) since 15 March 2021, based on a provisionally applied amendment to the agreement on customs facilitation and security with the EU.
This means that customs data, which are mainly generated in online trade, are already transmitted when goods are shipped from third countries. It allows the federal customs administration (FCA) to conduct an efficient and comprehensive risk analysis.
At its meeting on 25 August 2021, the Swiss federal council adopted the relevant dispatch to the attention of the parliament as expected. (sh)
