Supply chains: overlooked and underestimated
On 28 November 2023, the Verein Netzwerk Logistik (VNL) met in Vienna for the first International Supply Chain Community Meeting 2023 (ISCCM 2023).
The aim of the meeting was to support businesses and supply chain managers in tackling modern challenges and to exchange views on cost optimisation and risk management. It included participants from companies such as RHI Magnesita, Aldi Süd and Vishaz Semiconductor (Austria), as well as students of supply chain management.
Franz Staberhofer, VNL’s chairman and initiator of the ISCCM 2023 event: “Supply chain managers have been the overlooked heroes of the economy. What was missing until now was a community in which they can promote the topic of supply chain management. The first ISCCM 2023 showed how important it is to have a network. Together with the participants, we have established a series of projects and measures until the second ISCCM 2024.” (mk)
