Strongest month in Rio de Janeiro
The Companhia Docas do Rio de Janeiro (CDRJ) saw its highest throughput in 2020 this August. Its facilities handled 5.16 million t this month.
This volume surpassed August 2019’s movement by 921,000 t, which corresponds to a growth of 21.7%. The Port Authority’s two main ports – Port of Rio de Janeiro and Port of Itaguaí – both contributed to the positive result.
While the Port of Itaguaí handled 743,000 t more than in August 2019 (+20.1%), the Port of Rio de Janeiro processed 171,000 t above the level of August 2019 (+31.4%). (mw)
