Strong H1/2021 for Port of Houston
Out of the approximately 450 airports, seaports and border crossings in the United States, the Port of Houston ranked third after the Port of Los Angeles and Port of Newark according to statistics of the US Census Bureau.
In trade, the Port of Los Angeles generated USD 146 billion in the six months of 2021, second was the Port of Newark with USD 110 billion, followed by the Port of Houston with USD 75 billion.
The Port of Houston, especially strong in oil and oil products, increased its turnover by 17% during H1/2021 (USD 64 billion in H1/2020). The port's overall tonnage was about 83.6 million t during H1/2021.
Its main international trade partners were China (USD 7.4 billion), Mexico (USD 5.4 billion), Brazil (USD 4.9 billion), Germany (USD 3.7 billion) and South Korea (USD 3.4 billion). (cd)
