Stihl fully automated in Italy
Andreas Stihl, a manufacturer of outdoor working tools, has entrusted Swisslog with the expansion and upgrade of its production plant in Cambiago near Milan (Italy). The newly installed fully automated system comprises almost 17,000 containers on 16 levels and has 17 robots and five picking stations.
With the implementation of the auto store system, the automated warehouse features working stations for goods entry, order picking and inventories, additional storage and cargo handling capacities and an expanded order picking area.
Andreas Stihl currently employs 71 people in Italy. Founded in 1926 and now present in 160 countries, the company has quadrupled its turnover over the past ten years. (sh)
