Speeding up road haulage in Middle East
The first TIR shipment from Saudi Arabia to Oman passed through the United Arab Emirates and arrived recently at its destination, the International Road Union (IRU) reported.
Almajdouie Logistics moved almost 20 t of dairy products, taking advantage of the TIR electronic pre-declaration (EPD) to accelerate customs procedures. The use of TIR reduced the journey time from three days to just 20 hours.
The landmark operation was completed with the support of IRU members in Oman, Asyad, and TIR issuing and guaranteeing association Sinyar, as well as the Saudi automobile and touring association and the automobile touring club of the UAE. (ben)
