Space for 45,000 vehicles in Koper
The Slovenian Port of Koper has opened a petrol station for the supply of working machines and vehicles in the port, a new gate for trucks, and a new multi-storey garage for cars.
The new gate for trucks is already the third entrance to the port. It will be intended mainly for container trucks, which represent more than half of the trucks entering the port.
The third entrance for trucks is technically a copy of the existing Sermin entrance, with the difference that it also has an external parking lot for 44 trucks that can be used by drivers while they are preparing the documentation for entry.
The new garage has a capacity of 6,000 vehicles and together with the existing facilities, Koper can now store 45,000 vehicles at once, whether on 650,000 sqm of open or on 145,000 sqm of covered storage areas. (ben)
