South African for Imea at Hellmann

Hellmann Worldwide Logistics has appointed Lee I’Ons as its regional CEO for the Imea region, with effect from 1 April. He’ll succeed Madhav Kurup, who has led the region since 2008 and was recently promoted to Hellmann’s global management board as COO for airfreight, sea freight and contract logistics.

L’Ons, a South African, brings 30 years of experience in Asia, the Middle East and Africa with him, having held senior roles with Kuehne+Nagel, most recently as national manager GCC and president for the Middle East and Africa.

With 2,000 employees in 14 countries, the Imea region is a key growth driver for Hellmann. “Lee’s leadership will be instrumental in expanding our footprint in key sectors, including the automotive and pharmaceuticals segments,” Hellmann Worldwide Logistics CEO Jens Drewes said. (ah)
