Sonoco Thermosafe fills passive bulk packaging gap
Sonoco ThermoSafe, a unit of the US-based Sonoco, a provider of temperature assurance packaging, has created the "Pegasus ULD" line of passive temperature-controlled unit load devices, the first passive bulk temperature-controlled container for pharmaceutical use that is an approved unit load device, which allows it to speed through existing international ground handling and customs processes at lower cost.
Engineered with composite materials, in cooperation with Aerotuf, a supplier of innovative composite airfreight containers, the new ULD offers a lighter solution that is more damage-resistant than traditional metal containers.
Furthermore, Sonoco ThermoSafe customers will experience integrated real-time data capabilities, including internal and external temperature tracking and geolocation. (ah)
