Solar power for Night Star Express

Night Star Express, an association of six medium-sized logistics service providers founded in 1993, is reducing its carbon footprint by introducing solar energy on its building in 's-Heerenberg, the Netherlands. To this end, 676 solar panels were installed by the Kremer company in early January. They are expected to provide nearly 240,000 kWh per year.

Patrick Löwenthal, CEO of Night Star Express Hellmann: "When we expanded our building in 2019, we already replaced the existing lighting in the offices and crossdock with LEDs. By investing in the solar panels, we can not only achieve an energy-neutral status, but also feed the excess solar energy into the grid for other users."

The group has sites in 's- Heerenberg, Meppel in the Netherlands and in Maasmechelen in Belgium. Express shipments are delivered overnight from the two countries by 08.00 at the latest in the Benelux countries, but also to Germany, France and England. (sh)
