Solar energy is cool
Protecting the environment has long been an important issue for Swiss provider Rhyner Logistik. It therefore takes great care to deploy eco-friendly utility vehicles in its transport services. The cooling units used on Rhyner trucks are powered via an auxiliary drive by electricity that is produced by a clean Euro VI engine whenever required.
The company has now added another specialised eco vehicle, a fully electric D Wide ZE P6x2 Renault truck, to its almost 100-strong vehicle fleet.
The truck’s cooler unit is powered by electricity produced by solar panels installed on the roof. Rhyner will use the new vehicle to supply goods to food discounter Denner’s branches in Zurich and the surrounding region. (ben)
