Snow ploughs for rail tracks
Sinara has delivered fourteen PSS-1K snow clearing trains to the Russian Railways (RZD). The rolling stock will now be deployed to remove snow off rail tracks in various parts of Russia.
The trains can be used on tracks up to width of 2.4 m and for a snow depth of up to 0.8 m. They can load up to 180 t of snow into a body with a capacity of 460 cbm, Sinara says.
The PSS-1K trains have been manufactured in the plant in Vereshchaginsky (a district of Perm Krai) since 2013. The company claims that it has produced 154 units of these snow plough trains so far. (ben)
