Smaller US airports continue to rise
Chicago Rockford airport (RFD) handled more than 283,000 t of cargo in Q1/20 - the most that the world's cargo airport with the highest rate increase in 2019 has ever processed during three months and 30% more than in Q1/19.
Passenger terminals at Ontario airport (ONT) were mostly quiet in March too, but air cargo shipments into and out of Southern California posted one of their largest single-month gains ever. The 21.95% increase in air cargo tonnage (70,000 t) y-o-y was only topped in January 2018 (22.87%).
Meanwhile, last Sunday, 26 April 2020, operated by Atlas Air Worldwide for Prisma Health, Boeing Dreamlifter became the largest aircraft ever to land at Greenville-Spartanburg airport (GSP), bringing 1.5 million medical-grade face masks to healthcare professionals in South Carolina. (ah)
