Siberian operator expands its tank car fleet
Transport Logistics Systems (TLS) railway operator has received a supply of modern tank cars with a 25-t axle load for transporting technical grade sulphuric acid from Russian manufacturer UWC. This is the first time the Siberian operator has commissioned specialised new generation cars.
“The rolling stock we have acquired will allow us to ensure the uninterrupted export of our clients’ products, while reducing transportation costs per tonne of transported product,” said TLS.
Today, Russia’s fleet of tank cars deployed to transport technical grade sulphuric acid is estimated at around 3,300 units. 30% of the existing fleet are expected to be decommissioned by 2025. (ben)
