Shortsea fleet enhanced
At the end of October the coaster "Amadeus Titanium" will set sail for its maiden voyage from Moerdijk in the Netherlands. Effective immediately, the liquid coaster will strengthen the HGK Shipping Group's shortsea fleet.
The "Amadeus Titanium" will be deployed in European shortsea traffic exclusively for its customer Covestro, a manufacturer of chemical products. Covestro opted for the time charter of a ship to be prepared for the expected rise in the volume of ship transports.
Under a multi-year contract, the HGK Shipping Group had a dry bulk coaster adapted to meet the specific requirements of its customer. Equipped with four special tanks, the "Amadeus Titanium" can now ship around 2,000 t of hydrochloric acid or sodium hydroxide. Sailing under the Dutch flag, the liquid coaster will serve customers across Europe. The HGK Shipping Group is part of the Häfen und Güterverkehr Köln AG. (cd)
