Shortening drivers' waiting times
Vehicle manufacturer Humbaur has introduced SLOT, Cargolix’s timeslot management system, at its headquarters in Gersthofen near Augsburg (Germany). The cloud-based solution ensures that around 28 trucks per day can pick up their cargoes and be dispatched from the ramps without having to queue.
There are no fixed deadlines for booking timeslots. Logistics services providers can make short-term reservations, provided they book them by 15.00 h on the previous day.
This congestion-free procedure enables the company to plan the following day as accurately as possible and also to allocate staff accordingly. (ben)
