Shift to e-truck saves 30 t of CO2
LKW Walter recently switched to an electrically powered truck to transport beverages for Coca-Cola Austria. The move from diesel to electric drive has reduced CO2 emissions by around 29,600 kg for 24,600 km driven.
The first joint e-truck operates within Austria between the Coca-Cola production centre in Burgenland and central customer warehouses.
Today, LKW Walter handles one third of its shipments using eco-friendly modes of transport combining road, rail and ship. Going forward, the CT specialist wants to create green corridors which will, as far as possible, be open only to trucks with alternative fuels such as HVO 100 and low-emission drive technologies.
