Second GW location in New Zealand

In Christchurch, the biggest city on New Zealand’s South Island, Gebrüder Weiss (GW) opened a new representative office for air and sea freight services on 12 October. After Auckland this is the second location the transport and logistics service provider has opened this year in New Zealand.

GW's emphasis on this part of the local network down under and in the East Asia/Oceania region is based on the importance of imports from the USA, Europe, and above all from Asian markets such as China and Japan.

The new office is in the region overseen by Michael Zankel, regional manager for East Asia/Oceania, and is connected to key centres of trade and industry in the north of New Zealand, as well as to international markets through Lyttelton Port, which is equipped with a modern container terminal, and Christchurch airport. The latter is Air New Zealand’s hub in the south of the country. (sh)
