Scannell Properties expands to Strasbourg
Scannell Properties has acquired a 34,250 sqm hub at the port of Strasbourg, France’s second largest river port.
The logistics platform is currently occupied by Auchan Retail Logistique. After taking over the site at the end of this year, Scannell will work to create an energy efficient warehouse with LED lighting, a building management system, and enhanced insulation, aiming to reduce the building’s energy consumption by around 20-25%. As the site is situated on a 9.1 ha plot, there is potential to extend it by a further 13,700 sqm.
“The site ticks all the boxes that are important to us and our clients: a strategic location at the port of Strasbourg, a railway junction for multimodal logistics activities, refurbishment with environmental certification and no agricultural land being developed”, says Hugues Desbarrières, deputy general director, France of Scannell Properties.
